Hi All,
We need to move our Avalanche server to a new site so the IP address will be changing. We have 250+ devices currently pointing at the exising IP address.
Could you please advise how we could migrate from one IP address to another with minimal impact?
I have been looking at the "Network Profile tab, Manage IP Address Pools" - If I specify multiple IP addresses here will the devices use this list to replace the "Server Avalanche IP" in the enabler?
Thanks,
Dave
Hello! My software company uses Wavelink Studio COM to create scanner applications and we are concerned that we haven't seen any new releases of the Wavelink Studio COM Server software since 3.7 back in 2003.
Can someone shed some light in regards to this product line's future? Is there a new version coming?
Is there anyway that I can select multiple devices from the Mobile Device Inventory and delete them all at once? I notice that when you highlight a selection of devices and right click to pull up the menu you are actually given the option to delete selected devices - (plural) and yet only one device will be removed from the inventory during this process.
If you are unable to accomplish this from the Java console, can it be done from the Web Console or through SQL scripting?
Hello,
I'm setting up a TelnetCE emulation of the AS400 of my company, but I have a problem :
My main goal is to have clickable text where I want to. I've read about the syntax in the emulation parameters (like F(number)=*** or [***]) but when I setup the menu like that in the AS400, the TelnetCE interpretor put some "<" and ">" at the beginning and the end of my text, which makes it not clickable.
Where does that come from ?
Thanks for your answers.
Hi,
I'm trying to remap F1 to [ALT][F1] with the Wavelink TE Android's version for a Panasonic FZ-A1, as far as I know F1 stands for 3B00 , but I don't know wich scape secunce stands for [ALT] key, and hoy to concatenate it with the [F1].
¿Does any of you has an idea about how to solve it?
Thanks in advace,
We have purchased several WT41N0 devices in the last 4 months. It seems like ALL of them are having issues with the telnet client in some way or another. The user will be in the middle of a telnet session and them emulator suddenly closes. OR, another issue is the scanner. The user will be using the emulator and the scanner suddenly quits working. Exiting and going back into the emulator fixes it.
Has anyone had these troubles and how did you fix?
I'm looking to configure WEB emulation in Wavelink TE on a batch of Motorola MC3190s but am getting unusual results when trying to navigate to any web page. Upon connecting it is returning a File Download dialogue box asking whether I want to run the program from its location or save it to disk. If I press ok on either option I get an error message saying there is no application associated with the file.
I've tried this both on my destination website and also a couple of test websites (Google, BBC) but always get the same result, it tries to download a file with the same name as the website.
Any ideas? I can't see anything obvious in the emulation parameters.
As a developer that works with Wavelink Studio COM, I would greatly appreciate the folks at Wavelink to publish any Studio Client Emulators with instructions on how to tailor them to emulate certain aspects of different scanner devices (like being able to change the "wlclient.cfg" file).
I am aware that the new version of the Studio COM Server (v3.8) comes with an emulator, but this emulator does not seem to emulate the appearance of the UI as it would appear on an actual device. It also exhibits glitches where buttons no longer respond, and I can't figure out how to simulate scanner input. This makes program development difficult.
Four years ago, I was supplied with an emulator by someone that works at Wavelink that can't be downloaded from the Wavelink website. This emulator works very well, and it calls itself "Wavelink Windows Studio Client". This emulator allows me to make adjustments to its configuration in the same fashion as I would change the configuration on a standard Studio Client via the "wlclient.cfg" file. This means that I can reliably see how the UI is drawn for a device with a wide screen (such as the Motorola WT 4090), and how the UI is drawn for a device with a long screen (Such as the Motorola MC 9000 series).
Screenshot from the older "Wavelink Windows Studio Client":
New emulator packaged with Studio COM Server v3.8 (note the different default font for the Widgets and flagrant difference in display behavior):
(**Note: the screenshots you see were taken from the two emulators running the exact same application from the same Studio COM Server. )
Suffice it to say that I am content with the older emulator that I have in my possession, and I am still able to use it when connecting to a v3.8 Server. However, newer devices on the market (example: Motorola MC9190G) seem to feature a different display technology that makes the UI on the Studio Client appear extremely small. Older models used QVGA technology (Quarter Video Graphics Array), where these newer models have begun to use the standard VGA technology that has a higher resolution than QVGA, hence the smaller appearance of the UI. Under normal circumstances, our programmers would be able to rescale the form automatically in the code, but Studio COM provides no such capability in its API. This makes us dependent on Wavelink to provide client software that is properly calibrated for the device in such a way that maintains consistent appearance and behavior across all other supported devices.
Since the emulator I have depended on for four years is no longer reliable in fulfilling its purpose, I'd like Wavelink to supply me with the tools and instructions so that our programs will function with reliable consistency using the Studio COM API as directed.
In the new version of the enabler for Intermec CN50 v5.3-30 there is also released an .CAB version.
But where can I find the documentation on how to use it?
The release note say that it is possible to disable the scan to config. But how?
- To aid with direct CAB installation, the automatic Scan Config prompt for initial server address and Wi-Fi settings
is now enabled by default. This behavior can be disabled if necessary.
And how do I preconfigure the Avalanche server address?
I have noticed that my widgets disappear after calling the rfIO.GetEvent method. Further investigation has revealed to me that it does not simply "hide" or make the widgets invisible, it completely destroys the widgets from the device. The only way to get the widgets to reappear was to call the "StoreWidgets()" method for the widget collection after calling the rfIO.GetEvent method. This behavior is consistent.
I've seen this behavior on the most modern versions of the Studio Client software. Here's all the background info regarding this particular instance:
Wavelink Studio Server: Studio COM v3.8
Scanner Device: Motorola WT41N0
Device OS: Windows CE 7.0
Studio Client Version: 5.4.2.1
Has anybody else run into this problem? Is there a way to fix this? The widgets should only be hidden when my code calls the appropriate API method to do so; same for deleting the widgets from the device.
I currently have a workaround in place, but this is going to cause a lot of traffic over the WiFi and more overhead on software performance.
Thanks in advance
I am getting these error messages when ever we try to do an inventory on a mobile phone. Any ideas?

Is there a way to configure a Network Profile to use WPA2 with TKIP?
We are running Avalanche MC v5.3.0.543
We currently have a network profile running WPA2 w/AES (PSK)
Hi All,
We are using Avalanche 5.3.1.50. We have 260 Mobile devices.
We are experiencing really poor UI performance in the Avalanche Console and Web app. It takes over a minute to populate the UI. Does anyone have any performance tips?
We are displaying the following columns:
Serial | Terminal ID | IP | Last Contact | Recent Activity | Notes | Sync State | Device Name
The performance has degraded as we have added more devices.
In WLTE 7.3.163 for the Intermec CK3X how do you disable ]c1 identifier from processing in a SSCC (GS1-128) barcode?
http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/28233 describes the issues exactly, but upon exit of Wavelink TE the scan trigger becomes disabled again requiring RE-enabling.
I may be doing something wrong?
Any Ideas?
Hi All, does experiencing problem today with Enrollment Rule; i try form different account and it seems impossible to deploy Enrollment ID; anyone knows if somehting is going on ?

Hello,
in the security eventlog. It is Windows Filterring Platform that blocks a packet from 2 servers on which Wavelink Licenserver is installed. The event happens every 2. Minut.
IP: 10.XXX.XXX.165/166 (IPs of Wavelink servers) port 2001 and port 1820. If I look at these 2 ports, they are used by “LicenseServer.exe”. It Is startet by the “Wavelink Client License Server” service.
I can read from the configuration file that Port 1820 is used for contact to other licenseserver. (I have created a DNS entry for both servers)
So it could be possible that Wavelink is pulling other servers than the one specified in the configuration file for a license?
Example on one server. In 2 days there are 96.877 security event. 38.082 of them are event ID 5152, and almost all of the are Autir Failure events from the Wavelink Client License Server service, installed the 2 servers above.
Here is the configuration file, maybe something should be set up different?

# These servers can then be kept synchronized if they have the same username and password specified.
# You can use multiple OtherServer lines if you have multiple license servers besides this one.
# Use the format "OtherServer = address:port" for each line.
# If the port value is not specified, port 1820 is assumed.

How do I prevent or fix wavelink Monitor.exe error. It prevents my device from warn reboot.
Where can I find all the logs for package deployed on MC75?
Hi,
I didn't find any mobile device inventory information as title. Does wavelink avalanche can detect that?
