RDP for Windows CE6 - TelnetCE - Enabler - AvalancheMC

Hi, I've recently discovered hosting our Web based WMS on a Terminal Server optimizes device performance by 2 times.


Device specs:

Moto MC9190

Windows CE6

OEM 04.37

Enabler 5.3-46

 

To achieve this, my solution is to add a RDP shortcut on the Wavelink Enabler which will start the session to the terminal server.

 

Problems:

-CE6 is not designed to save RDP credentials after a cold boot (There is no way around this). I need auotmatic login for compliance reasons.

-A warm boot will sometimes erase the RDP credentials too. So this is my main road block.

 

Questions:

-Does anyone have experience with using RDP on Windows Mobile devices?

-Is it possible to configure Telnet Client Emulator to act as a Remote Desktop connection to connect to a server?

 

All I need it seems is to have a web page hosted on resources external from the Mobile device. The MC9190 does not have the resources optimally run a WMS web session.

-Once you think you have thought outside the box, you must think outside that box.

 

I'm open to questions.

Scan Handler (Enter after barcode scan) not working

Hello,

 

I'm having problems with a Motorla scanner and Wavelink.

Everything (i need) that is configured in Emulation Parameters works, but the only thing that does not work is a "return" on barcode scan (Scan Handler).

My Wavelink version is TelnetCE 7.2.00 and i have a licence for VTHP.

I have also tried to use A(0)[A\\0D] but that does not work either.

Is this a Wavelink version problem? Or am i doing something else wrong?

I have re-installed the Wavelink software on the Scanner, but that didn't help either.

 

Does anyone have any idea that i'm doing wrong?

 

The scanner is a Motorola MC9090 with WIndows Mobile 5.1

Telnet emulator session block

Hello,

 

Our warehouse logistics are handled through an internal ERP application ensuring a proper flow of the reception and distribution of auto parts.

For this purpose we use around 110 mobile terminals with barcode scanners (RF Guns) of which 50 are deployed in the central warehouse.

 

The models used are:

Motorola MC2100

Datalogic Falcon X3

Datalogic Skorpio

 

In the central warehouse we are currently using 50 Motorola MC2100 scanners with Windows CE 6.0 operating system. As an emulator we are using Wavelink Corporation’s Telnet version 7.3.63 for Motorola MC2100 terminals.

Lately, the following problem began to manifest itself:

On a daily basis every Motorola MC2100 device suffers one or more unexplainable telnet session blocks.

When this happens, the terminal cannot interact with the application any more, the keyboard stops working and after a few minutes the display shows the "disconnected session" message. The terminal’s log doesn’t record any loss of connection to the access point.

The Access Points are all newly acquired from Motorola in order to ensure maximum compatibility between them and the mobile terminals.

 

Our question is:

To what extent the Telnet emulator may influence these session blocks, taking into account the following:

1. Telnet version

2. Certain parameters of the telnet configuration

3. “Avalanche Enable” configuration – we are using the Avalanche platform version 5.3.0.572 to manage our terminals

4. Having a large number of sessions (high load) on an Access Point.

 

Can you please help us with any idea in tackling this problem? Is there a log monitoring tool that can help us to identify the cause of these problems?

The situation is very critical and this seriously influences the process of delivery and reception of goods.

How do I build Packages with Avalanche Package Builder 6.0?

Hi,

 

I'm using Avalanche Package Builder 6.0 and I want to create a Package for our Barcode Scanners from Motorola (MC3190 and MC3090). I use the Package Builder for the first time and have tried many things but I have absolutely no idea how anything of this works.

At first step I want to copy a simple folder from the server to the directory of the scanner.

And the next step is to install a special Java Version to the device and import the license for it.

 

To copy the files to the mobile device I choosed for Package Type "Support". Then I selected in the Download Tab the source where the folder is on the server and for "Path" I choosed "\Temp" on the device for testing. ut it does not work.

Can your please help me?

Enter after scanning only on a specific field

I am trying to send a barcode with an enter only on one specific field.  I do not need it send after every field just one specific scanned field. 

 

My issue with sending after every scanned field is because if a scanned barcode fills a field it will automatically jump to the next field and then skip it or blank out previous data.

Does enabling "Dynamic by selection criteria" under Device Folder Assignment in the Default Mobile Device Server Profile work for Android devices? I have multiple folders with selection criteria set to IP ranges. WindowsCE device dynamically go to the correct folder, but Android devices do not move.

Setting the answer back on VT emulation CE

Hello,

 

I am trying to set the answer back onto Wavelink Terminal emulation CE , but without success.

 

The name of the unit is talking to a VT200 WMS server and needs the name to identify it to the system.

 

I am setting    DESMTM030 .  But cant work out the format to set in the product Configuration tool.. Setting in Emulation Paramaters > emulation > VT & HP > common > VT new answer back.

Having issue with an android scanner running Jelly bean that scans but the value does not get inputted into android Velocity TE client

The scanner beeps and does the return carriage after the scan but no numbers/letters show up in the input box.  Tried both hardware keyboard and softkey input for scanner and it doesn't show up for either.  The scanner is a Cruiser Enterprise Handheld Terminal Android PDA scanner.  It weird because the wavelink TE app from the playstore worked just fine, but when we upgraded and purchased the license for the velocity app it stopped working :/

Wavelink Avalanche 5.3 - Orphaned package shouldn't be orphaned.

Hi All,

 

We are experiencing some trouble with our Wavelink Avalanche 5.3 server: We use the TelnetCE application package and push that to our Psion VH10f terminals. In that package is also the URL to where the industrial browser should go. When changing the URL to a new one the server deleted that package from all our terminals and marked the package as "orphaned". Nothing else but that URL was changed to the application package. When i open the list (see screenshot) of orphaned packages to delete, the industrial browser package is in the list.

I found out that there are 3 reasons why a package would become "orphaned":

* if it has been deleted from the Avalanche Console,

* if the software profile it belongs to has been disabled,

* or if the package has been disabled.

 

Well i checked and confirmed all 3 situations:

The package "criteria" is also an correct since it has always worked, didn't change and i double checked if it is correct at this moment.

 

Does anybody have a clue why the server is claiming it to be "Orphaned" or is there any way to force the server into believing that that package shouldn't be "orphaned". We also tried rebooting the server but the problem persists although it shouldn't be orphaned.

How to take over a Wavelink configuration

Hello, I have some Motorola MC9100 and I'd like to take over the configuration from one device to another device. I heard that I could copy the Termcfg.bin from the application\wavelink folder (via Active Sync) to another MC9100 but that don't work. If I looked in the Termcfg.bin I didn't find my configuration profile.

In which file is the configured profile from my Wavelink Telnet (Version 7.3.40) saved?

 

Another possibiltiy to take over the profile should be the Wavelink TelnetCE Configuration Utility but I can't find a download. Is this software only available for

maintenance agreement?

 

I hope you can help me :-)

Split a barcode

Hello,

 

We are using Wavelink Velocity CE with Datalogic Falcon X3.

Some days ago we are using QR Codes with individually information (for example A179013 or Q321), but now we need to start to use QR Codes with information joined by '+' (for example A179013+Q321).

The problem is that each data not ever has the same length.

I tried to separate with Scan Handler configuration, replacing '+' to different separators (file separator, group separator, record separator and unit separator). I tried to change '+' into a Data Carrier, but the rest of the bar code was lost.

Also I tried to change the preamble, getting the same result.

Somebody could help me to strip the QR Code in different readings?

Caracter after barcode scan

Hello:

  I am pretty new using the software "terminal emulation" on android, so my apologies in advanced.  

  We are trying to scan a barcode 39 and, after the number read on the code, we have an extra caracter.

  We tryed to disable this end of line or whatever is it, but it was no posible.

  We are running this versions:

  • Android 4.1.1
  • Emulation Terminal 2.0.0.4452
  •   Our device is a symbol MC32N0

  Also I attach some pictures about the mistake reading where you can see the caracter added at the end of the code

  Any help it will be appreciate.

Velocity CE problem

Hello,

 

we are experiencing problem with VelocityCE running on Datalogic Falcon X3+.

We installed appropriate client from Wavelink download page.

We also installed VelocityCE server on Xeon machine with Windows 2012 server OS.

Device reaches velocity server but nothing is displayed, after some time there's "Reconnecting" on the client.

We checked log on the server and it looks like that there's some problem with java script on the page.

That web page loads normally on IE or Chrome, from the machine where Velocity server is installed.

When we tested few months ago it worked without problem, so we can't figure out what is going on...

VelocityCE server log is in attachment.
